Sint Maartenszee is situated at the foot of the dunes. This seaside resort is known for its wide sandy beaches, but did you know that a unique little nature reserve is hidden nearby? You will find Het Wildrijk nature reserve near the dunes, where you can walk across a bright blue carpet of hyacinths in the spring. The water level in the reserve is maintained by the Duinrellen project. This water comes straight out of the dunes through a ‘clean water ditch’ !
Amusement park De Goudvis
Sint Maartenszee is not only popular among adults, but children also love returning here. A day of building sandcastles beside the sea is mixed with a visit to amusement park De Goudvis. With its indoor and outdoor playground, children can have hours of fun on water bikes, slides and the biggest trampoline in Europe. Obviously, in exchange for this mum and dad (or granny and granddad) can make a trip at the end of the day through Fluwels Tulpenland, an attraction park where you can learn all about the tulip (secretly also great fun for children). And don't forget that you are in the largest flower bulb region in the world here!
Dune roses
Sint Maartenszee is particularly suitable for a longer stay. There are plenty of holiday parks and campsites, obviously within walking distance of the beach. For example, at campsite De Lepelaar you can still enjoy a little bit of camping in the wild between the dune roses and rosehip bushes or on the top of a dune. Waking up to a view of the sea: who can say no to that?
